Russian Post sees bill on conversion into joint-stock firm soon
MOSCOW, Jan 29 (PRIME) -- Russian Post expects that a bill allowing the company to convert into a joint-stock firm will be adopted sometime in March–May, CEO Dmitry Strashnov told Rossiya 24 television channel late Thursday.
“A draft bill on converting Russian Post into a joint-stock company was submitted to the State Duma last year. We hope a lot that the draft bill will be considered by the State Duma in spring and we have a chance to pass this bill,” Strashnov said.
The company itself is ready to turn into a joint-stock company, he said.
“As we are given a task to make the company competitive on a very difficult market, where a huge number of players, including Western, have presence, conversion into a joint-stock company is certainly necessary,” Strashnov said.
